Certified asbestos removal company for Turnhout and the Kempen region, with a safe and legal approach for every asbestos application.

In Turnhout you still see them often, those houses from the 1960s or 1970s with a basement full of pipes. Around the heating pipes there is sometimes a white, crumbly layer, usually still wrapped in hessian cloth. That is not ordinary plaster: in houses from before the 1980s, that is often asbestos-containing pipe insulation. As long as you don't touch it, the risk is limited. But as soon as you start renovating or need to repair a pipe, dust is released. And you don't want that in your lungs.
Your floor can also hide a surprise. Vinyl sheets and tiles from the period between 1955 and 1985 often have an asbestos-containing backing, with a black, brittle adhesive underneath. That adhesive, also known as cutback, is the real risk. Anyone who removes that floor without the proper precautions spreads asbestos fibres throughout the house. That is why removing such a floor is always a job for a licensed company, as part of asbestos vinyl floor removal.
And then there are the roofs. Corrugated sheets or slates on a lean-to, a garage or an old garden shed: in Turnhout and the surrounding area you still see them regularly. As long as the sheets are intact, the risk is limited. But they become brittle, and they break easily during dismantling. If you leave this job to us, we will carry it out using an asbestos roof removal procedure that is fully compliant with the regulations.
We are a licensed asbestos removal contractor and we work throughout Flanders, including in Turnhout and the rest of the Kempen. Depending on what we find, we use one of the three legal techniques. For a simple operation, the risk of fibre release remains low, for example with undamaged, screwed-down corrugated sheets. For pipe insulation, we build a hermetic zone. And for damaged or friable asbestos, we set up a hermetic zone with negative pressure.
After removal, the asbestos is packed airtight in foil of at least 100 microns and taken to a licensed processor. So you don't have to go to the recycling centre yourself, and that's a good thing. For friable asbestos, that is not even allowed, and the amount you are allowed to dispose of yourself is also limited. We take care of all of that for you.

If you are selling a home built before 2001, you have needed an asbestos certificate since November 2022. That certificate is drawn up by a certified asbestos expert and issued by OVAM. We do not produce certificates ourselves, but we do remove the asbestos that the certificate identifies. This way, you gradually get closer to an asbestos-safe home, something the Flemish government wants to achieve for all buildings by 2040.
